Researchers & Authors Seeking Parents/Kids
City:
SF Bay Area
Ages:
Teens, Young Adults, Adults

We are looking for teens 14-18 years-old who will get a chance to undergo either a free 12-week mindfulness training, in which they will learn self- regulation skills (breathing, yoga-based movements, meditation), or a free 12-week psychological education training that can help them better regulate emotions. They will be randomly assigned to one of the groups, which will meet once a week on Tuesday afternoons or Saturday mornings for 1.5 hours online via Zoom. Our next round of classes will begin on February 4/8 and run through the end of April.

Participants will also undergo two MRI scans, one before and one after the training, and complete online mental health questionnaires about their well-being. MRI scans (about 50 minutes long) will take place at a state-of-the-art UCSF facility at Mission Bay. Participants will receive up to $535 in gift cards for completion of the study. Please fill out our interest form if you'd like to know more or are interested in participating: https://ucsf.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_9NR5oBgaR4ExsWx
