California Revels: The Midwinter Revels

California Revels presents a family-friendly holiday theater production, at the Douglas Morrisson Theatre in Hayward. Revels performances are joyous theatrical celebrations which draw on a magical blend of song, dance, ritual, storytelling and drama to create a vivid experience of community. This year's theme is a Celtic Celebration of the Winter Solstice, featuring traditional music from Ireland and Scotland, as well as beloved Revels singalong favorites and holiday carols. Families will enjoy the antics of Finn MacCool and Benandonner in the Legend of the Giants Causeway, as well as lovely singing from the Revels children's chorus, lively dancing, a limerick contest with audience participation, and beautiful Celtic music led by Shira Kammen, Margaret Davis and Kristoph Klover. Performances are Friday, Dec. 20 at 7:30 pm, Saturday and Sunday Dec. 21 and 22 at 1 and 6 p.m., and Monday, Dec. 23 at 1 p.m. Tickets on sale now at californiarevels.org.
