Searching for KP Ped. Knowledgeable abt Lead Exposure

Hi folks,

I’m looking for a Kaiser pediatrician, in either Oakland or Richmond, who is knowledgeable about lead exposure. My toddler has had higher levels for almost a year now, and I am consistently coming into well checks with more info than our ped. She says incorrect, well-meaning things like, “good thing the lead is leaving [toddler’s] body”—it’s not leaving, it’s just getting absorbed by her organs, bones, and teeth. 

I didn’t think that it mattered that much because the internet has a lot of the info I need, but we just had a visit with an incredible pediatric dentist who took the initiative to talk about lead and teeth, walked me through what we might expect to see later, showed me pictures, asked questions, etc. I came out of it so grateful, and we really deserve that kind of care from our pediatrician as well. Thank you!
