Girl Power Science: Virtual Flow Workshop (Period Power!) on 11/18 at 5 pm
Join Girl Power Science Founder, Konika Ray Wong M.Ed for this 45 minute online parent/child class on Monday, November 18th from 5:00 Pacific Time/ 7 pm Central Time / 8 pm Eastern Time. This class will be a live zoom format with a small group of students. It is perfect for children ages 7 - 12. All genders are welcome.
Did you know that you were born with millions of eggs in your body and one day you will release your first egg? In this class, we will learn all about menstruation and the amazing inventions that can help us be prepared for our first period. Konika will read her children's book, "One in a Million - A First Book About Periods", lead a mini lesson, and leave plenty of time for Q&A from the students. Students will feel more comfortable and confident handling their first period and beyond.
Our session will culminate with an optional hands-on science experiment called the “Pad Lab.”
Materials needed: scissors, paper towel, teaspoon, cup of water, blue food color, and menstrual pad
