Hello!

My name is Andrew Tuttle and I am the Director of Education Programming at NAMI San Francisco, a local mental health advocacy organization. 

I'm reaching out because our team is producing the third annual Youth Mental Health Symposium. This program may be of interest to parents and family members in your community. 

Additionally, this program is part of NAMI SF x Youth Mental Health, an event series highlighting youth mental health in October. 

Event: Youth Mental Health Symposium: Your Child's Technology Use and Digital Safety

Date: Thursday, October 24 from 6:00 - 7:30pm. Free, virtual via Zoom webinar.

Audience and Purpose: For families, caregivers, and educators who want to support mental wellness for children and teens. A panel of experts will discuss the benefits and risks of social media use, how to identify problematic technology use, what an effective family social media plan looks like, and how to support your child relative to online spaces. 

Panelists: 

Nicole Owings-Fonner, MA, PMP, is the Director of the American Academy of Pediatrics National Center on Social Media and Youth Mental Health.

Maya Hernandez, Ph.D., is the Senior Manager of Next Gen Initiatives at Go For Broke National Education Center.

Derek E. Baird, M.Ed., is the author of The Gen Z Frequency and serves as a social media consultant.

Reichi Lee, J.D., serves as the Director of Curriculum and Programs at My Digital TAT2.
