Volunteer Opportunity: Enhance Your Occupational Therapy Skills with Outdoor Kids OT!

Are you eager to delve deeply into the world of Occupational Therapy and gain hands-on experience? At Outdoor Kids OT, we're committed to nurturing our volunteers' growth, providing a solid foundation for a successful career in occupational therapy.

Unlike traditional OT volunteer roles that might have you simply observing from a distance, our mentorship positions are immersive and interactive. You'll work closely with a seasoned occupational therapist and gain firsthand experience in our innovative, nature-based OT programs for children. You’ll play a vital role in helping children develop coordination, confidence, and meaningful connections with themselves, others, and nature.

We offer two group locations for this hands-on experience: the Berkeley groups meet in the scenic Tilden Regional Park, while the Oakland groups meet in the serene Joaquin Miller Park. Both locations provide a natural setting that complements our therapeutic approach, allowing volunteers to witness the benefits of outdoor therapy in action.

Volunteers are asked to commit to one 2-hour session per week, with breaks for holidays. We understand that life happens, and occasional absences are fine. However, please note that Saturday groups do not meet on holiday weekends.

We especially need volunteers during the work week, particularly from Tuesday through Thursday.

Your commitment during these days is crucial to our program’s success and will provide you with the most comprehensive learning experience.
