My name is Hen, I'm a former middle and high school classroom teacher and experienced tutor of 12 years. I just moved to the Bay Area and am looking for new students! 
 

I specialize in: 

  1. Math at every level up to AP calculus 
  2. Essay-writing (including college application essays!), 
  3. SAT/ACT test prep. 

I taught social studies and language arts and have tutored other high school level subjects as well. I am great with neurodiverse and LGBTQ young adults. Many of my students have trauma around feeling incapable of learning a certain task or being "bad at math"; I am patient and know how to work with students who have given up, to help them feel self-empowered even if they are years behind. 

I provide tutoring on a truly sliding scale, pay what you can from my going rate of $120/hr to volunteering for free if your family cannot afford private tutoring but need it.
