Handyperson needed
I recently inherited a 6 unit apartment building in Oakland from my parents and I want to continue to manage it. Sadly, the wonderful and talented person who helped my father with repairs and odd jobs retired after many years. As a result, I need to hire someone else to assist me with the same type of issues when they arise as I am not too handy. The areas of main help would be electrical, plumbing, carpentry and possibly a little bit of painting. The person I am seeking should be experienced, friendly, honest, and reliable. I would very much appreciate any recommendations for those who might be able to help me. Thank you very much.

I've had Rob come do work for my home and rental property for about 5 years. He's about 55ish white guy with deep east bay roots, the kind of guy with an old station wagon filled with odds and ends he brings to a job. Paint touch ups, hanging pictures, create a new shelf in the a cupboard, install carpeting, cut a table to size, install outlet. He doesn't text so you can reach him by calling 510-595-9239.
I would definitely recommend Sergio Lavanderos who has helped me with many odd jobs on my property for the past four years. He's a really nice and dependable person and does great work. His info is 510-415-1998; sergee.sl [at] gmail.com.
I would highly reccommend Ladybug Handyman Services who I have come to my house every few months for various projects. Glenn is really kind and reliable and Noel is a mench
After reading reviews in BPN about ten years ago, I called Lowell Hicks to do some tricky custom cabinetry in my office/studio. I have been using his services ever since, and he’s done good work for me covering plumbing, electrical, fine-and-basic wood working, and a small concrete slab. He’s a recently-retired licensed general contractor… so he knows his stuff... and his rates are reasonable.
