Swimming lessons for 7 year old

I'm looking for relatively inexpensive swimming lessons for my 7 year old grandson, hopefully in Oakland.  I previously checked the recommendations page and Ohana was suggested, however, they charge $33/lesson for a group lesson.  Anybody have experience with the Oakland YMCA?
