Skate Like a Girl is an amazing organization and has helped give my 8 year old more confidence both in skateboarding and in life. The skate coaches are amazing and make great connections with all students. They have helped her develop not only her skateboarding abilities but also how to be confident and resilient. She is learning that is ok to fail at something and to persevere through hard things. I'm so thankful that we have found this organization.

Skate Like a Girl has been an awesome experience for my kiddo both on and off a skateboard. She has gained skill and confidence largely due to the coaching staff. Her skate coaches represent a range of gender identities and are amazing humans. Each has had such a positive impact on how she navigates the world both building her perseverance and resilience. It's more than just skateboarding.

I highly recommend youth programming (all genders) with Skate Like a Girl. I wish they existed when I was a kid!

Skate Like a Girl has been an amazing positive influence for our family -- not in just getting comfortable with and progressing with skateboarding, but building an inclusive and social justice oriented community.  Our non-binary 9 year old has been involved with their classes for the past 3 years and last summer was able to attend their overnight youth camp.  It has given them confidence in skateboarding and relish in the fun of moving -- but also has helped them make friends of all ages, something that has been new for them (as they tend to gravitate towards adult conversation).  Also, as a middle-aged mom, Skate Like a Girl has been absolutely instrumental for me in re-igniting my love for skateboarding and finding joy in something I am really not good at.  I have made life-long friends after attending their adult classes/camps and I look forward to seeing my homies any chance I get.  Skate Like a Girl has weekly drop-in classes, more scheduled kid's sk8 schools, meet-up events, and a summer camp for everyone in the Sequoia National Forest.  If you or your child is even remotely interested in skateboarding, Skate Like a Girl is the best place in the Bay Area to start.
