My daughter has done Destiny Arts' summer camp for two years and has loved it. They do a combination of dance and martial arts in the camp and she's really liked both. I've heard good things from parents about their martial arts program during the school year.
Yes! Their teachers and wonderful, the community is uplifting and great, and the space is top notch - with space for parents to hang out during class even. Love it. Have taken youth hip hop pre and now post pandemic and watched a neighbors kid in martial arts class, which seems hugely popular.
Over the years, my 3 kids did the Teddy Bear Hip-Hop and enjoyed it. I appreciated that they focused on more than just dance moves, but also teaching the kids to feel positive about themselves and be respectful community members. The Love in Action showcase is a fun conclusion to the classes. The students also come from a diversity of racial backgrounds which was positive for my kids to see an African-American.
Yes, my 4 years old son just started dancing class with them.
Teachers look professional/friendly, however, I wish they would have gaven more attention to each kid since half of the time my kid was not listening and no one is helping him.
I think it's good if your kid is little order because they do not need too much of assistance.
We went to their performance last year in support of our friend’s kid who was performing as part of Destiny Arts. The child was in fifth grade. The child loved dancing with their group and also enjoys self defense class at Destiny Arts. I felt that the content of the performance was not entirely appropriate for younger kids including gun violence and high school lockdown. My impression is that it might be better for mature elementary kids or older tween and teens.
