Hello. We are looking into local preschools. Does any one have any information on Piedmont Play School? Any new reviews for Linda Beach Preschool? Thank you. anon

First off, there are two. One (Play School) is run by the Piedmont rec center, and the other (Piedmont Playschool) is a cooperative preschool at Hampton field. I have a child at Piedmont Playschool (http://www.piedmontplayschool.org) so can only review that one. It is a warm, nurturing, supportive, clean, friendly environment. It can be hard to get in unless you sign up at least a year out, but miracles can happen. They have a requirement (they are on City property) to give preference to Piedmont residents and to siblings, and the school only takes 22 altogether, so it fills up fast. Parents are expected to work 6 hours a month (two three hour shifts) in the classroom, and everyone has another job they do for the school. There are always four adults for the 22 kids, so the ratio is great. It's all three and four year olds, evenly balanced by gender. For Piedmont, it is a pretty diverse group of kids, too. I love the place. pps mom
