In our program, we believe that every child has a voice and a gift for learning. In our program your child will enjoy learning The Building Blocks of Pre K. Introduction to alphabets, numbers, colors, patterns and basic math. In addition, they will acquire social skills, sensory development, problem solving skills, tracing objects and physical education. We know that children are their best when they are happy so our teachers make learning fun by creating games that help our kids learn together. We pride ourselves on creating learning experiences filled with laughter, structure and ingenuity. Structure to teach our children how to behave in a school setting, ingenuity to help them create learning tools that will help them throughout their academic careers. Where we teach with love.
Cato's is an absolutely wonderful place. We started our son there when he was a bit over 1 year old, and he's been there for a year now. It's been amazing to see the impact being there has had on him. He has learned SO many things that we hadn't even started teaching him on our own - one day he came home and started saying please and thank you, the next day he was counting to twenty, the next he was dancing to his favorite ABC's song.
The communication between parents and Shannon, who runs Cato's, is fantastic. At pickup and drop off you'll get a quick play-by-play of how things went, an update on what went well, what was challenging, etc. And every once in awhile, Shannon will let you know something deeper that's on her radar that she's working on with your child (e.g. learning to be less dependent on a comfort blanket during nap time).
Equally important, these kids just have a blast. They are excited to be there every day. The proximity to San Pablo park is amazing as the kids get tons of exercise and supervised play time on the playgrounds.
Shannon and her team just love these children and it shows in the impact they have on them. They love seeing them grow, have fun, learn and succeed. They feel like an extension of your family who you can rely on and trust to take care of the most important person in your world.
Cato’s Tiny Tots is wonderful. The owner, Shannon, is so caring, considerate and professional. She runs an excellent center and we really have enjoyed working with her. Thank you Cato’s!
Cato's Tiny Tots has been transformational for our daughter. She loved learning her ABCs at 2 and was unable to incorporate that into her play-based previous daycare. We transferred her to Cato's Tiny Tots just before her 3rd birthday. Now, at 4 years old, she is writing her name, enjoying sight word reading and is working on subtraction. She loves her time there. The balance between early academics and play has been excellent and we've watched her blossom. She loves going to the park everyday and their weekly trips to the library/storytime! One of the most important things about our experience has been the ability to partner with Shannon on how to address behavioral issues uniformly at home and at daycare. Working with Shannon to have this consistency in our daughter's life has been amazing and we've seen the positive results. We feel like Shannon is a true partner in caring for our child and in ensuring she grows up happy and healthy in all ways. Our son started with Shannon at 6 months old and he is now 21 months old. His experience has been equally outstanding and he loves to sing his ABCs with his sister. Shannon has been great in helping him take his first steps, use eating utensils, identify his colors and expand his vocabulary to incorporate simple sentences. Our children can get along and play well together because Shannon fosters an environment that encourages healthy play among all children (her tiniest are never bullied!). She allows them to each grow and feel special in their own way. I highly recommend Cato's Tiny Tots!
