ABC Preschool
Alameda, CA
My daughter went to ABC Preschool at Bay Street, behind Mastick Senior Center. Unfortunately, we no longer attend as we moved, but the school was great, and I highly recommend it. To my knowledge, this is the cheapest preschool on the island.
I really loved this preschool, they took time with my child and did great work helping him get over an abusive environment in a previous preschool. My son trusted teacher Karen immediately and she worked hard to get him ready for kindergarten. I always felt like I had an ally and friend in parenting when I interacted with her. Teacher Sheila is amazing with the kids, she nurtures their friendships and teaches them kindness. My son came home every day with a story about teacher J and she like all the other teachers at ABC is warm, kind and has amazing energy. This school is one of the best kept secrets in Alameda and I am forever grateful for my son's time with them and all the work they put into him.

Re: Alameda preschools
ABC Preschool in Alameda matches your needs. They are play-based with curriculum. They offer full time 7am -6pm and part-time 8-12:30. The teachers have been there FOREVER and they are loving, kind and fair. Our 1st daughter started when she turned 2 in 2003. Our 2nd daughter started Jan 07 when she turned 2. ABC takes kids starting at age 2. They are WONDERFUL! They DO have a wait list. ABC Preschool = 510-521-6488 Good luck! meresa
Re: Alameda preschools: NON Montessori (Oct 2005)
Our daughter strarted at ABC Prescool in Alameda when she was 2. She is now 4 and is in her final year there. ABC has been wonderful. The teachers are all very warm, kind and patient. The teachers have all been there longer than we have (no turn- over!) ABC is a play-based preschool. We have met some wonderful families through ABC and have made what I expect will be life long friends. As for my daughter she LOVES it. When I drop her off in the morning she happily says good-bye and when I return to pick her up she always asks if she can play for a few minutes more. ABC offers full and part-time schedules and they are reasonably priced. ABC provides hot lunch once a week (the best day of the week for me!) Oh and they potty train! Good luck with your search. meresa
