Finding childcare during hospital stay
Hey Parents,
We're expecting a baby in Feb and our plans to have grandma come stay with us/help us with our two older kids (and everything that comes with it) for a few days while we're in hospital have fallen through. We're having a hard time finding a back up plan and are looking to hire someone but that has proven to be a huge challenge. We have friends/some family here but no one with lives they can step away from spontaneously for 2 or 3 days (which we get). The search for help continues, but if anyone has some creative ideas, we could really use some advice. We've been scouring BPN, Care, Sittercity, asked at our kids' school, spoken with two nanny agencies, posted online (here and elsewhere) and even started looking into night doulas. Nothing is sticking. Ideally we'd like to find someone who can stay on as our part-time nanny (and start before Feb so our kids have time to acclimate) but at the very least, we'd like to have something squared away for when this baby comes.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

You may have better luck finding a part-time nanny closer to that time since many don't know this far in advance if their current jobs are ending. As for nights or the gaps, your partner will probably have to go home and take care of the kids. That's what most of my friends have done if they don't have other childcare in the area!
