Relocating to Seattle
We are moving from Oakland to Seattle in a couple months and would appreciate any advice on neighborhoods that are great for toddlers. Also, recommendations on moving services (local movers in Seattle, most cost-effective way to move a 2BR apartment) would be great! Thanks!

We live in Seattle, so I don't have any advice about moving companies, but there are many great Neighborhoods, depending on your budget and what you're looking for. Rentals are expensive, but likely not a shock if you're moving from the Berkeley area.
Look at Greenlake, Wallingford, Mapleleaf, --all in North West Seattle, close to small shopping and restaurant strips, parks, and neighborhood houses with sidewalks and lots of trees, gardens. These are lovely places to live--not very diverse, however.
Beacon Hill, Seward Park, Madrona are south of the city--also nice neighborhoods, some close to Lake Washington. More diverse, Beacon Hill might be less expensive.
Laurelhurst, Bryant, newer bigger houses--more expensive, good parks, very nice, if that's what you are looking for--more expensive. (don't have a real central shopping/restaurant strip).
Capital Hill--some young hip sections, some beautiful old houses--strong LGBT community.
Each neighborhood in Seattle has it's own character. Most neighborhoods have a street/area with grocery stores and restaurants and a few shops, so if walking to those things is important, look for a house near those streets. It would be good to come up and look at the different areas since there's a different feel for each.
