In response to the lines for Brahms Lullaby. There was a website called KidSong(?) that has moved to http://www.kididdles.com/. Look under Musical Mouseum for songs and lyrics. This new website is more complicated than the original, but I guess it offers much more now than when I learned about it over a year ago.

There's a great website at http://www.stairway.org/kidsongs/allsongs.html that lists ALL the lyrics to most songs you can think of. I haven't been there in awhile, but when I checked it out a couple of months ago, Braham's Lullaby was

The Metropolitan Museum of Art has a lullaby book and companion CD, which we received as a baby gift, and which has a lot of familiar and not-so-familiar lullabies. I think the book is just called Lullabies, but I don't have it in front of me to make sure. I know there is a Museum Shop at Stanford Shopping Center which carries a lot of the stuff sold in museum gift shops; you might call them. Also, if you don't necessarily mind lullabies you probably didn't hear as a kid, there's a lovely CD of international lullabies (very exotic generally), called The Planet Sleeps. I am sure this would be available at Tower or maybe even Amoeba.

I have a wonderful book called Sweet Sleep, A Collection of Lullabies, Poems and Cradle Songs, by Christopher Headington, published by Clarkson N. Potter, dist. by Crown Publishers, 201 E. 50th Street NY NY 10022. Don't know if it's available around here (there's always Amazon.com), but it's a great collection of words and melodies (melody line only) to lullabies familiar and less-known, including some lovely Irish and Scottish tunes. Nice illustrations, too.
