Pet-friendly Getaways

My husband and I are looking for a nearby getaway where we can take our dog overnight. We saw the romantic getaways listed in past posts, but none of those mentioned were pet-friendly. We are flexible in terms of lodging type (B, cabin, condo, apt., hotel, all O.K.)- but prefer a place where we will have our own bathroom and kitchenette. Our dog is 50lbs and very friendly with kids and all people, but not cats. hilmonst

  I would recommend looking at Maria Goodavage's The California Doglover's Companion from Foghorn Press. Goodavage describes dogfriendly hotels, motels, restaurants, and stores throughout the state as well as rating parks, beaches, etc. for dog fun and accessibility. dog mommy
