Music Teacher for Homeschooled Children
Hello Berkeley Parents!
My name is Drew James, and I am a fellow Berkeley parent of two and a local private music instructor currently accepting new students. I am particularly interested in working with homeschooled children. I have university and practical backgrounds in music theory and classical guitar performance as well as classroom teaching. I am well equipped to write curriculum and lesson plans for students that cater to their needs and interests. I am also comfortable guiding students' natural flow and progression of learning and continually adjusting my lessons as needed. The instruments I specialize in are guitar, bass guitar, and ukulele. Topics that could be explored are: technique, theory, songwriting, improvisation, staff reading, stage presence, confidence, and finding your voice through art. Fun and non-judgement are the heart of my teaching style. Process before outcome. I teach out of my home studio near San Pablo Park and also over Zoom. All ages, all skill levels, and all styles of music. I can take up to two students at a time. Here is my website for additional information: https://www.althoffguitar.com
Thank you for your consideration and I look forward to hearing from you! Take care,
-Drew James
