The Day of the Dead exhibit is coming to the Hayward Area Historical Society for the month of October! The museum will feature community artwork in our art gallery space and through the main exhibit. In addition to the exhibit itself, we are hosting special FREE Saturday programs to celebrate!

Tissue Paper Marigolds & Foil Art
Saturday, October 5, 11:00 to 2:00
Day of the Dead Festivities are filled with bright and happy colors! Add vibrant colors to your festivities with your very own tin foil art. Also, learn about the marigold's role in Dis de los Muertos celebrations and make your own tissue paper marigold.

Monarch Butterflies
Saturday, October 12, 11:00 to 2:00
Learn about the symbolism of monarch butterflies in Dia de los Muertos imagery and make a monarch before they all migrate south.

Make a Skeleton Friend
Saturday, October 26, 11:00 to 2:00
As the Day of the Dead approaches, we all need a skeleton buddy. Join us at the museum and decorate a skeleton friend.

Skull Masks
Saturday, November 2, 11:00 to 2:00
No Dia de los Muertos celebration would be complete without skulls! On the last day of our wonderful community exhibit, stop by to decorate a skull mask to wear for the day!

The Museum is open from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.  We hope to see you!
