Children's Community Center (CCC): Winter Open House

Please join Children’s Community Center (CCC) for our Winter Open House - Saturday, February 9, 2025 from 10am – 12pm.

This is a great opportunity for families to get to know our unique school. We invite parents and children to spend the morning with us to learn more about our program, meet teachers and other parents, learn how the co-op functions and, of course, play!

CCC is a play-based/developmental cooperative preschool. The curriculum, based on principles and beliefs about the way children grow and learn, is that children at the preschool age learn best through play. Play-based programs have been shown to be very helpful in preparing children for academic settings. Children at CCC have a great deal of choice in how they spend their time. Appropriate social interaction is also a major goal of a developmental program.

We are committed to the ideals of anti-bias and non-exclusionary play. Because we live in a society with negative biases about gender, race, cultural backgrounds, disabilities and family structures, we believe in actively fostering children’s anti-bias development. CCC has been around for 96 years and is the pioneer cooperative nursery school in California, and one of the first in the country. CCC offers year round early/after care: early morning care from 8-9am and after care from 12:30-5:30pm, Monday through Friday during the academic year. Full time summer care is also offered.

We have two classrooms, the Front Yard is for children who will be 2 yrs & 9 months by Sept. 1, 2025, while the Back Yard is for children who will be 4 yrs by Sept. 1, 2025.
