The Village Kids' Club: Dream Makers, Art and Science Camp
Celebrate Martin Luther King Day through an inspiring blend of art, science, and movement!
Young dreamers will create illuminating circuits, design story collages, dance with purpose, and collaborate on a vision of tomorrow. Through hands-on projects inspired by pioneering Black artists and inventors, children explore Dr. King's message of hope and change in age-appropriate, engaging ways.
Morning Creativity -Create vibrant story collages inspired by renowned artist Romare Bearden -Design light-up cards using real circuits – connecting to the innovations of Lewis Latimer. Outdoor Adventure Enjoy lunch and field games at Littlejohn Park (weather permitting), with plenty of active play and fresh air.
Afternoon Expression -Learn dance moves inspired by Alvin Ailey's celebrated choreography -Collaborate on our "Dreams for Tomorrow" mural – where every child contributes their vision for the future. Children take home their personal creations plus memories of a day spent celebrating creativity, community, and positive change.
• Age Group: 5-10 years.
• Drop Off: 8:45–9:00am | Pick Up: 4:00pm | Extended care 8:30-5:30
• Lunch: Bring a labeled water bottle, two hearty snacks, and a nut-free lunch.
• Attire: Comfortable, movement-friendly clothing. Note: We’re a "no-shoes" facility, we recommend trampoline socks.
• Belongings: Leave toys and personal items at home or in the lobby cubbies.
