Stanford University Research: Ultra-Processed Foods Study

Researchers & Authors Seeking Parents/Kids
City:
Palo Alto
Ages:
School-Aged, Preteens, Teens

Hi there,

My name is Teena, and I am the Study Coordinator for the Ultra - Processed Foods Study at Stanford University. We are looking to learn more about how certain foods contribute to healthy and unhealthy eating habits and weight gain, and the effects this may have on the brain.

Stice Lab at Stanford University is conducting a research study for healthy teenagers between the ages of 13-15. The study involves some short questionnaires, body measurements, and a non-invasive fMRI scan where they will taste test small amounts of a milkshake or smoothie (following which your child will receive a picture of their brain!). After this, your child will complete a 1-year follow-up assessment involving questionnaires for the next 4 years. The total compensation for this study may be up to $300, and time spent in this study could be put towards school service hours!

If you are interested in learning more, please follow this link (https://redcap.stanford.edu/surveys/?s=HW9PD3JNTTK8PAMA) to a secure short interest form. Parents or the adolescent can fill this out. If it seems like you will be good fit for this study, a member or the research team will be in touch with you!

Thank you for your time and support in helping advance science!
