Parenting for Independence: Hands Off, Support On

For parents of students in grades 6 to 12

January 12 from 5:00 to 7:00pm at Orinda Academy

Are you familiar with these scenarios in your house?

  • Your teen has problems with getting started on school work and you spend too much time nudging them with questions.
  • You are still waking up your teen to go to school.
  • You write most of the emails to teachers and manage advocacy for your teen.
  • Teacher feedback is often:  missing work or turning work in late
  • Late nights finishing procrastinated work with less than stellar grades
  • Overwhelm and problems with time management and breaking up tasks is a “thing” at your house.

SOS4Students is here to help!

Join SOS director, Beth Samuelson, and learn...

  • Best practices for building independence starting at home
  • Tips for staying out of conflict and avoiding the dreaded micromanagement
  • Planning tools your student can use immediately to help you all collaborate effectively
  • Ways to ensure your teen is on top of school and their outside commitments without your having to take charge
