Monkey Business Camp: Youth leader positions at Summer camp
At Monkey Business Camp, Youth Leaders are a vital part of our community. They bring warmth, playfulness, and energy, helping to create the magic and fun that make each camp unforgettable—not just for the campers, but for fellow Youth Leaders and staff as well. In fact, many of our current staff members began as Youth Leaders!
Youth Leaders support the camp in many ways, from welcoming kids as they arrive and engaging them in board games or art projects to running across the field and assisting staff with activities throughout the day. As they gain experience, they’ll have opportunities to develop leadership skills—co-leading games, leading songs, making announcements, and taking on more responsibilities over time. Many Youth Leaders describe this as an incredibly rewarding, character-building experience. Campers look up to them as role models, often dreaming for years about stepping into the role themselves!
If your child loves playing with younger kids, enjoys the outdoors, has strong social-emotional and teamwork skills, and brings lots of enthusiasm and energy, this program could be a great fit.
Participation also comes with added benefits. We can provide confirmation letters for volunteer service, which some middle and high school programs require. Many Youth Leaders also include this experience on resumes for job searches and college applications or use it to secure babysitting and other opportunities between camps.

“Monkey Business is an excellent camp. My son has been attending since he was eight years old and in the last couple of years he began the CIT program. Watching him develop leadership skills in addition to experiencing enriching activities has been a wonderful combination! The staff at Monkey Business is caring and professional and they have provided fabulous mentorship for him.”
