Hello, Berkeley and Bay Area Parents!

My name is Mark and I’m an Oakland-based LMFT (#13357), with an in-person office and virtual location close to Piedmont Ave and Grand Lake, Oakland.

I’m certified in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and partner with clients who have difficulty managing strong emotions. Sometimes, really challenging life circumstances can make us feel out of control of our mood. Sometimes high emotional sensitivity is just part of our make-up, and teens and adult can really struggle to act effectively. Wherever you're coming from, therapy can offer tools and a framework to tackle the most important challenges.

My office is just off the 580 Harrison Street exit. I have a warm and curious manner, and try to make humor and resilience big pieces of the dynamic. I've partnered with people who self-harm, autistic youth and adults, queer and gender non-conforming individuals, and people who've been through intensive outpatient programs and hospitalization. I love this work, and really believe therapy can bring relief, strength, wisdom, and joy to suffering.

My private office in Oakland has a free adjacent parking lot, and I have space available during daytime and limited evening hours. I work with private pay clients, but also accept numerous insurance plans including Aetna, Cigna, Optum, and UnitedHealth.

Please feel free to reach out with any questions! I'm happy to talk :)
