Fertile Ground Parenting: When you swore you'd never do that thing with your kids

I remember the first time I watched myself do something with my son that I swore I’d never do as a parent. It broke my heart, and it unleashed a whole cascade of feelings—shame, grief, and  helplessness, to name just a few. 

I thought I was “strong enough” to prevent this from happening. And I didn’t know what to do to stop it from happening again. The therapy, meditation practice, books, podcasts—none of it prepared me for the down-on-the-ground reality of how it felt in that moment.

I became a parenting coach to support parents who find themselves at this same crossroads. When you land in this tight, painful space, and you’re not sure what to do to shift the pattern.

I can help you find your capacity to work with your own triggers and to be the parent you want to be, especially when things get hard with your kids.

I can also support you with all manner of challenges arising in your kids, including:

• The whole spectrum from not listening to outright defiance;
• Off-track behaviors like hitting, biting, screaming, and more;
• Sibling conflicts;
• Separation anxiety;
• Bedtime woes; 
• Things needing to be “just so” for your kids; and
• Tantrums, meltdowns, and feeling like your child holds your family hostage with their moods.

I’m trained in two connection-based, brain-based approaches: Hand in Hand Parenting and the Educaring Approach (RIE), and I've been supporting parents since 2017. I work one-on-one (or in parenting couples) to help parents access excellent tools, deep emotional support, and renewed energy for themselves and their kids.
