Our co-op preschool, Children's Communty Center in Berkeley,  is looking for a part-time teacher with at least 12 early childhood education (ECE) units (or working toward 12 ECE credits) to assist our Teacher Directors daily, Monday-Friday, hours vary. The school is open from 8:30am-5:30pm.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $25.03 - $26.89 per hour

Schedule:

  • Morning and afternon shifts 
  • Monday to Friday (days needed will vary)
  • No weekends
  • On call

CCC is a parent-teacher cooperative preschool located in North Berkeley. Operating since 1927, CCC offers a year-round, play-based program run by a professional teaching staff and managed by parent volunteers. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise and engage children during morning and afternoon programs in child-initiated and organized activities, encouraging peer interaction and helping with problem-solving and conflict resolution.
  • Assist Teacher-Director with the day’s projects and facilitate activities that support children’s spontaneity, curiosity, and choice.
  • Collaborate with staff and parents to support a well-balanced, rich, and varied learning environment for children as they grow their capacity for self-expression and social connection through exploration and play.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Passion for and experience working with preschool children.
  • Applicants with 12 ECE credits required. Applicants with prior experience working with children who are planning to get credits will also be considered.
  • Current background check and health clearances required upon hire.
