Teen Babysitting Advice

My 13-year old would like to start babysitting and we've got several neighbors who are interested in hiring her. Can parents of (young) teen babysitters share the info about rates your teens are charging (or charged when they were first starting out)? I'm also wondering if anyone can recommend a babysitting class for a young teen. I know about the online certification through the Red Cross but am curious if there are any other local options.
